The goal of this free workshop is to develop strategies and material for improvisation, in idiomatic and non-idiomatic music settings including Persian or Middle Eastern modes.  


Attendees can expect to: 
-Learn ways of improvising using scales and modes
-Develop a range of patterns for improvisation with scales and related chord structures
-Improvisation strategies within small groups
-Develop communication skills for better musical interaction
expose students to various schools of thought regarding improvisation, from Jazz to Deep Listening
