clarinetist François Houle will present a solo performance of Cornelius Cardew's Treatise.
 
Written between 1963 and 67 by British composer Cornelius Cardew, Treatise is a graphic musical score made up of artful lines, symbols, and geometric shapes stretching 193 pages. Unaccompanied by any instructions about how to perform it or with what instruments, the score is open to interpretation and has been performed in a multitude of ways and formulations.
